This is where Highcharts Formatters come in. Simply put its a property which is a function you supply. In that function (takes no parameters) the this keyword holds various bits of information about the point(s) which are being hovered. Implementing a formatter, generates both header, that then iterates over the points (shared) or single point (non-shared) checking for a formatter on an object predefined outside and .calls it (for context, the point, and some other data that I require), the pointFormatter returns html/text that is then appended, and moves to the next. Should it not be able to find one, it defaults to the generic formatting and continues onward.

Is there any way to use the tooltip formatter on Highcharts templates?. I would like to format a number with thousands and decimal separators and maybe some preffix or suffix like in the Worksheets Highcharts.
